Go Ali!

Ali's life has been so inspiring to me since I met her mom online in 2003. Enjoy this inspiring article about her life since liver transplant due to Alpha-1.

A new outlook on life
Transplant source of inspiration for FSHS senior

Free State senior-to-be Ali Jacobsen will be competing in the U.S. Transplant Games in Pittsburgh over the weekend. It will be her third trip to the Games, which take place every two years. At just 7 months old, a liver transplant saved Jacobsen’s life in Omaha, Neb.

So great that you've gotten to meet others with Alpha-1. We've met several families with kiddos that have LM's like Jacqui and they have become wonderful friends and sources of encouragement. I hope Ali does really well at the games!

Oh, and BTW -- I love your new header! :)

Jen,
Love your blog. I've known your family since Zoe and Grace were 5 months old and never really knew what the girls have faced with Alpha-1. You guys are amazing. We will keep Grace in our prayers on the 23rd. We leave on the 29th, it's hard to believe. Grace and Meghan have been a part of Zoe and Sam's lives for so long. We will miss you guys so much, but I know we will keep in touch.

Thanks for sharing. I love to see transplant recepients who are thriving and doing so well. It gives me hope and encouragement for Nathan. I hope that we can attend the transplant games at some point as well. Also, I have passed a blog award along to you as the writer of a blog that has been inspiring to me. Check out my blog to see more about it. Have a great day. Lora
